LUBBOCK, Texas — A 63-year-old bicyclist lost his life in a crash in Lubbock County on Tuesday night, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
According to DPS, Freddy Eugene Cain, Jr. of Lubbock, was riding his bike southbound on North University Avenue near County Road 6100 when he was struck by 20-year-old Clyde Johnson, also of Lubbock.
Cain was later pronounced dead at the scene, while Johnson was not injured.
DPS said the crash occurred just before 10:15 p.m., and the conditions were described as clear and dry.
