Overview
Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a Workers' Compensation Manager.
Position Status: Full-time, Days
Standard Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 7am – 3:30pm (EST)
Work Location: Norfolk, VA
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's level degree Required
Minimum of 10 years professional experience in the workers compensation field with a combination of management and direct claim handling experience to include complex claims Required
Knowledge of multi-jurisdictional workers compensation regulations and claims administration practices
Knowledge of Medicare-Set-Aside and SCHIP, Section 111 requirements and regulations
Knowledge of medical nurse case management processes
Skilled in risk identification, analysis, financing, and control
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, risk management information systems, electronic claims administration systems, email, intranet, and internet
Job Description:
The Workers' Compensation Manager (WCM) organizes, directs and maintains the operations and procedures of the Workers Compensation Program. Responsible for preparing the annual budget and monitoring expenditures. Collaborates with the Third Party Administrator, attorneys, physicians, actuarial team, insurance broker and workers compensation excess insurance carrier for the purpose of maintaining, monitoring and measuring the appropriate business model to insure a successful self-insured program. Oversees preparation and distribution of injury data, to include statistical and financial analysis to identify injury trends. Provides injury and financial reports related to employee injuries to the workers compensation excess insurance carrier for annual analysis and preparation of the Annual Benchmark Study. Identifies areas of focus in order to promote a safe workplace environment and implements innovative best practices.
